humble design
Our task as the lead designers was to create such a space utilizing donated pieces of furniture, lighting, and accessories. After meeting with the family, we took their list of needs/wants and began to create a cohesive space reflective of what they define as home. It was a great practice in working conceptually with substantial restrictions. We did not have the luxury of sourcing items to purchase, but designed each room of the two level apartment with what was given to us. Those restrictions actually allowed for a unique kind of creativity that pushed us to reconsider how all of the elements still apply, and applied well, within such boundaries.
